Mom Talk with Amanda from Stork and Dove

In a few sentences (we know you don’t have much time!) tell us about yourself and your little ones…

My name is Amanda and I am the Social Media Manager at Stork & Dove. You may be more familiar with Booby Boons instead, the main S&D sub-brand. We sell lactation products to help new mamas on their breastfeeding journey. I myself am a mama to twin boys, Mason and Grayson, who just turned four this year.

Fill us in on everything we should know about what keeps you busy: 

Managing and creating content for Stork & Dove keeps me busy in between homeschooling my boys, (I have been homeschooling them since the start of the first stay-at-home order back in March 2020) as we had pulled them out of preschool due to the pandemic. I also cook our family’s meals, and of course there are no shortage of chores to do around the house!

What is one thing you couldn’t live without as a mom?
(your ultimate must-have!)

Coffee… definitely coffee. Sweats are a must too, and a scrunchie because I’m living that mom bun life every single day.

What are your boys current faves? 
(if it suddenly disappeared tomorrow - there would for sure be tears!)

This Paw Patrol watch they got for Christmas and a Jellycat penguin stuffie that they sleep with every night.

What are three things that you take everywhere with you … 
(diaper bag essentials - besides diapers!)

Wipes, hand sanitizer and snacks because my boys never stop snacking.

Book Club

What is your favourite children’s book?
(a childhood fave or a post children discovery)

My favourite book as a child is “Love you Forever” by Robert Munsch.

What are your child's favourite books? 
(bet you can recite from memory!)

My boys love “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” and “Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site”. My boys can literally recite “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom”, no lies!

Mini Style

What are your favourite places to shop for your babes?
(mostly online these days I’m sure!)

I love shopping at Zara for cute outfits. Little Sleepies has the softest pajamas and Old Navy always has good deals and sale.

What children’s clothing brand do you wish they made in your size?
(because let’s face it, we’ve all once thought “I wish this came in my size!”)

Definitely Mini Mioche.

Mom Talk

What advice would you tell your pregnant self?
(if only you knew then..)

I would tell myself not to stress about the little things. Don’t compare. Everyone’s motherhood journey is different. Do what works for you.  

As a working mom, how do you find balance between work and motherhood?
(really is there such a thing?)

The truth? I’m still trying to find that balance. It has been especially hard parenting since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. There are good days, and then there are bad days. I just wake up every morning and try my best.

Who is your momspiration?
(it can be more than just one because there are so many superstars out there!)

Claudia, momtrepreneur of four kids and the founder of Stork & Dove. She is an absolute rock star!

What has been your pandemic saviour?
(we need all the sanity tips!) 

Kinetic Sand has been a life saver! Oh, and puzzles. My boys have been loving puzzles lately. And me? Wine and meditation before bed has really helped me wind down.
