Our Favourite (Subtle) Halloween Themed Kids Books

TML_Halloween-2-Crops.jpg

With Halloween almost here, we figured it was time for a little roundup of some of our favourite spooky — and not so spooky — seasonal kids books. We’re sharing the two that are currently on top rotation, as well as a list of books we’ve had our eye on.

Vamperina Ballerina
By Anne Marie Pace

A story about Vamperina, who, like many little girls, dreams of being ballerina. But it’s extra hard when you’re a vampire! You have to find a class that meets at night, and worry about perfecting your poses without being able to see yourself in the mirror. Just like any ballerina though, all it takes is lots of practice — and resisting the temptation to turn into a bat, because even without wings, you can leap higher than you think!

Cats’ Night Out
By Caroline Stutson

Do you ever what cats do at night? Well this charming book, with its dancing cats taking to the streets, fire escapes, and rooftops, will help answer that question — they dance! Part counting book and part introduction to music, rhythm and dance, the short, rhyming text makes it fun to read aloud, watching the cats tango, tap and waltz across the beautifully illustrated pages.
