The Best Spring Garden Books for Kids
The (slightly) warmer weather has gotten us very excited for Spring. Although it is already officially Spring it often doesn’t really feel like Spring in Canada until the end of April or early May... so with May just around the corner we are ready for you, Spring! The birds chirping, the flowers in bloom, outdoor playdates… we can’t wait! In the meantime, here are some of our favourite Spring and garden books for kids to get you excited too:
There’s a Tiger in the Garden
written and illustrated by Lizzy Stewart
Nora’s grandmother says she saw a tiger in the garden when Nora claims she’s bored. A bit hesitant, Nora goes to play in the garden. She’s convinced tigers only live in the jungle, not the garden… until! The illustrations are a work of art. Honestly, each page is frame worthy! It really is a magical garden.
Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt
by Kate Messner
art by Christopher Silas Neal
This sweet book takes us through what is going on above the garden and down below the soil. A very cool way to tell a story! The colour palette is so calm and beautiful. If you end up loving this book as much as we do, make sure to check out some of the others in the series like Over and Under the Snow.
The Magic Garden: A Journey Through the Magical World of Nature
by Lemniscates
A bright and bold book that introduces you to all the creatures who live in the garden. Each season brings something different.
Florette
by Anna Walker
Mae moved with her family to a big urban city. She decided to do something about the lack of nature in her new city life and she started her own garden! A simply adorable story especially for city dwellers.
The Golden Glow
