Canadian Preloved Children's Shop Directory!

I wrote a post on this a long time ago and never published it…. Typical!! But… that means since then, I’ve come across SO many more amazing Canadian secondhand, preloved shops. It seems I find a new one every week… but that’s great! It means there is a need.. and people are buying preloved more than ever.

Preloved and secondhand shopping is the future. Not only does it save you money, but it helps save our planet by slowing down the negative impacts of fast fashion. I’m very good about donating my children’s old clothes, so they can see many more years, but I am not as good about purchasing. It is a goal of mine and I’ve definitely become more cautious of what and how much I am buying.

This guide is good for both purchasing and selling purposes!

Purchasing: I find there are generally two ways to purchase: Instagram sales or on an online shop. The online shops will sell their products like any other shop, while with the Instagram sales, items are posted in the shop’s feed or stories. You need to claim the item by commenting “mine” or via DM and transfer the money (e-transfer/paypal) within a certain time frame and then the item is marked as sold. Most shops ship across Canada, some offer free local delivery. At this time, it seems most shops are not taking any returns. Pay attention to “drop” dates and times because items go FAST.

Selling: Most the shops I’ve come across or have sold to will buy your items for cash, some for shop credit, and others sell on consignment. They all will donate appropriately if the clothes don’t fit their selling criteria and you can accept or decline their offer. Many shops offer free local pick ups - so check to see which shop will be the best fit for you.

I’ve put together a list, almost a directory of Canadian Preloved Children’s Shops. I’ve divided it into sections: Instagram Style, Website, and Gear. I’ll try to continue to update this list and check out my Guide on Instagram. Send me any shops I’ve missed!

So much childhood nostalgia here… also, their styling is 💯💯💯

What started as a side hustle eventually became their full-time jobs. They want to do their part and leave the world in a better place.
New arrivals listed multiple times a week.

Re-Cycle side of Boutique Mini Cycle. Zero waste kids fashion... because there is no Planet B! (LOVE!)
Mini-Cycle is a circular economy platform that offers new and second hand clothes for babies and kids up to 12 years old. They are committed to buying back any clothes you buy from them (new or used) at a fair percentage of estimated resale value. All apparel is given a second life by either being re-sold here or being repurposed. Love this concept so much and their stuff is amazing!
They send you a free shipping label to send in your unwanted clothes and have a great buy back program.

Preloved apparel, books and toys for kiddos up to 12 years. All clothes are for all kids!
Kit's mission is to reduce the impact dressing your kiddos has on the planet (and your wallet). Royal City Littles:

Stylish, sustainable, affordable, preloved, high-quality styles for your littles.
Turned their love for thrift shopping into an online Children’s Consignment Boutique as they know how the time and effort can be exhausting for others (like me… right here!!) while trying to help reduce the amount of children’s wear heading to landfills by giving them a second (or 9th) life. They also have some super fun greeting cards.
