Here is the full list of Lindsay’s faves:
Bedtime Bonnet
by Nancy Redd
Bedtime Bonnet was inspired by the lack of resources Nancy Redd (author) faced when she introduced a bonnet to her daughter's nighttime routine. Each family’s bedtime routine looks a little different and this book does a fabulous job of celebrating the individual differences and traditions that each family shares during their bedtime rituals. This story is a great way to start a conversation with your little one about diversity and how we each have different ways of saying goodnight to our families, but they are all equally as special.
Around the World in a Bathtub: Bathing All Over the Globe
by Wade Bradford
This book opens little ones’ eye to the diverse bathing practices around the world. Bath time takes many forms, but it is a part of the bedtime routine that unites us all. Regardless of whether it’s a waterfall, Turkish bathhouse or the Ganges River a commonality many kids share is that bath time begins with resistance “no, no” and ends with little one’s begging to stay for longer “yes, yes”. This book would be a welcome addition to bedtime routine either before or after bath time.
Shhh! This Book is Sleeping
by Cedric Ramadier
This book is wonderful for getting your toddler involved in the bedtime process. As you’re doing the bedtime routine with your child, they can be simultaneously doing it with their book, kiss it goodnight and tuck it into bed with them.
Bedtime, Ted!
by Sophy Henn
This book is super cute for younger toddlers who enjoy lifting the flaps while reading. Ted takes readers through his bedtime routine and is ready for sleep once his bedtime routine is complete at the end of the story. This book is a wonderful way to finish bedtime routine each evening before tucking your little one into their bed.
Good Night, Baboon! A Bedtime Counting Book
by Sabrina Moyle
This is a silly bedtime book that kids will giggle along to while reading. It puts a lighter spin on bedtime for children that may not enjoy having to say goodnight to their parents for the evening. The illustrations are bright and fun, but the story shows that although the funny baboon tries to get out of going to bed, in the end he gets tired, gets a big hug, and ends up going to sleep.
Pajama Time! Book
by Sandra Boynton
Many little one’s resist putting on their pajamas because that means bedtime is near, but this book helps to make pajama time something to look forward too. Pajama time is a fun rhyming book that invites kids to pick out their pajamas and have a little “pajama party” before turning out the lights and saying good night.
Llama Llama Nighty-Night
by Anna Dewdney
Babies and toddler’s love this book’s cute illustrations and catchy rhymes. This book is great to read both before bed to say goodnight to your little one or during the day to show your child that Llama’s bedtime routine is similar to their own.
